ABOUT US
A specialist advisory for mission, funding and capital.
Equalise.it is a specialist advisory for mission-led organisations and those who fund, finance and support them in complex and underserved contexts.
We work on both sides of the funding equation: supporting organisations to strengthen strategy, readiness and funding pathways, and advising funders, investors and intermediaries on funding approaches and support models that fit operating reality.
Our work combines financial and organisational analysis with practical understanding of implementation constraints, particularly in fragile, conflict-affected and climate-vulnerable contexts.

OUR STORY
Why we exist.
Equalise.it was founded in 2024 to address a recurring challenge: in fragile and underserved contexts, funding and finance arrangements do not always reflect the realities of the organisations they are intended to support.
The challenge affects both sides of the funding equation. Mission-led organisations need realistic funding strategies, credible propositions and systems to manage resources responsibly. Funders, investors and intermediaries need approaches to identifying, assessing and supporting partners that take account of risk, capacity and operating context.
Equalise.it works across this gap, bringing together expertise in funding strategy, organisational readiness, impact finance and funding design to help clients assess options and develop approaches better suited to their circumstances.
INCAS CONSULTING
A wider ecosystem.
Equalise.it is part of the INCAS Consulting group, sharing a common mission, network and operating platform while maintaining its own specialist focus.
For more than two decades, INCAS has worked with governments, donors, development finance institutions, NGOs and businesses in fragile and conflict-affected contexts. Its expertise spans social impact advisory, monitoring and evaluation, applied research, strategic communications and conflict-sensitive analysis, bringing practical insight into the institutional requirements, contextual risks and implementation constraints that shape funding and finance decisions.
Equalise.it builds on this foundation with a distinct focus on how funding and finance can better support mission-led organisations in complex contexts.
This work is strengthened by relationships across the wider INCAS ecosystem, including locally rooted NGOs, specialist consultancies and advisers. Where relevant, we work alongside these partners, drawing on their knowledge and experience to inform our analysis, challenge assumptions and develop approaches that reflect local priorities and capacities. This is an important part of our commitment to localisation and more equitable partnerships.
Equalise.it can also draw on INCAS’s wider technical expertise, established quality systems, safeguarding arrangements and operational experience, combining specialist advisory capabilities with the institutional depth of an established consulting group.

PEOPLE
An expert-led collective
Equalise.it works as an expert-led collective: a network of 50+ advisers and specialists with experience across both sides of the funding equation. Our advisers bring experience from NGOs, philanthropy, public donors, development finance institutions, impact investors, businesses, research institutions and consultancies.
They combine technical expertise with practical understanding of complex operating contexts. Each engagement assembles a team around the client’s challenge, drawing on the right mix of sector knowledge, functional expertise and contextual judgement.
HOW WE WORK
Principles.
Context first
We start with the operating context, constraints and decision environment before recommending tools, funding routes or finance models.
Fit before finance
We assess whether a funding or finance option is suitable for the organisation, its mission, its model and its stage of readiness.
Co-creation
We develop recommendations with the people responsible for applying them, drawing on client knowledge, specialist expertise and relevant stakeholder perspectives.
Practicality
Our advice is proportionate to context, organisational capacity and implementation constraints.
Honesty
We distinguish between what is working, what remains uncertain and what may not be feasible within the available time, resources or risk appetite.
Systems thinking
We consider governance, incentives, capability, relationships and risk, rather than treating funding constraints as isolated technical problems.
Join the collective.
We are expanding our expert roster and welcome expressions of interest from advisers with experience across resource mobilisation, business development, impact finance, grantmaking and organisational readiness in complex contexts.
The collective is flexible and opt-in. Members can engage as opportunities arise, while contributing to peer learning, shared methods and a growing community of practice.
Members of the collective may contribute to short consultancies, longer-term advisory roles, training, research, quality assurance or delivery within Equalise.it’s structured programmes, depending on fit, availability and client needs.
PARTNERS
Partners and collaborators.
Equalise.it works with specialist partners who bring complementary expertise, access or contextual knowledge. Our partners include consultancies, research institutions, networks, ecosystem builders and mission-aligned platforms working across funding strategy, organisational readiness, impact finance and complex-context advisory. Together, we can assemble stronger teams, extend contextual reach and support clients with more integrated expertise.
